We've built lots of wooden Christmas Trees, constructed of reclaimed wood from shipping pallets. We're usually able to get fairly new pallets, but our early trees were from whatever we could find for free. It takes a good bit of work...from locating and transporting these heavy beasts, then disassembling and reclaiming the wood. We have developed templates to help with some of the repetitious work, those some of the work on each tree is unique. We typically build trees that are 3', 4', and 5' tall, but have also built many smaller for fireplace hearths, etc. Once all of the fabrication is done, painting begins. I usually paint each tree a little different. you'll see some of this being done, as well as trees in various stages of completion in the following pics...
